ÇöÇàÈñ/Hyen, Heng He
Abstract
Emergency medical service system(E.M.S.S) is consist of three steps, per hospital care step, transportation step and hospital care step. Every step has several systems and its functions, these systems and functions should be connected each other for its efficiency.
It is needless to say the importance of the emergency medical technician¢¥s role during the per hospital care step and transportation step. It means that will trained E. M. T are essential. It was attempt to look at the present situation of emergency medical care, to analyze the school curriculum and to offer a basic knowledge for teaching through this study by literature survey.
In summary
1. Telecommunication
It is the telephone number 119 and 129 that people should use when they are in the emergency situation. It is easy to dial number 119 whenever or wherever people are, but dial the area code first in case of 129 depend upon where people live. We can make an effort to have one¢¥s number to dial instead of two. And to use a public telephone without coins. It is also important to increase the network of telecommunication, to build the control base, to repeat the dialoged between two person through the recorded tape, to make people trust its reliability, to advertise the emergency medical service.
2. Transportation
It shows that people are more likely to use the 119 emergency car service in 1994 than in 1993 by the increase of 33 % during the mid-night by aged-person. It shows also that average time is lese than 10 minutes to bring the patient to hospital by 119 car service. The mobile intensive care unit which is developed in western countries are introduced in Korea to save many lines through the transportation service and the advanced like support. Many other lines can be saved by changing the care sizes to fit our narrow, bumpy roads.
3. Per hospital care
119 teams offers a last of services for example, artificial breathing, external cardiac massage and 02 supply. Red cross emergency patient call 129 orders the treatment at any place through the telecom even though it can not give the direct service because of the limitation of services. We must develop from the present telemetry, which only send the EKG of heart disease patient. So, emergency medical doctor can order. the proper treatment to the emergency medical technician by the car-phone. On line emergency medical services system also should be introduced to facilitate the proper treatment, and new equipment of telecommunication should be developed.
4. Department of emergency rescue curriculum
School curriculums are essential elements for training these want to be a E. M. T. So they can fulfill these duties as a citizen in this society. The problems of present curriculums are, no differences between each subject, and lacking practice. It is noted that more education and train needed in the area of endotracheal intubation, cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR), intra venous injection, perhospital care, opening the airway.
